Quotes of the Week

Enlightened insights taken from the past week’s reading:

"But if politics cannot be eliminated, it can be made more tolerable by an aggressive push toward subsidiarity. Americans already sensed this, but covid accelerated it. Giving up on political universalism is a bitter pill for the political class, but one that must be swallowed. It's the pill Mises prescribed a century ago in his radically decentralist calls for 'liberal nationalism' and the right of self-determination as the hallmark of a decent society. Does this mean America must break up into new political entities, as the Austro-Hungarian empire did? Not necessarily, but it does mean accepting a far greater degree of federalism and localism and a dramatically diminished national government. The way forward is apart."

Jeff Deist

"We are not cattle, we are not slaves, we are not children. We are free human beings and we own ourselves. Our elected representatives are our employees, not our masters. Sadly, we don’t even have elected representatives. We have election thieves in charge."

Jason Calley

"Trying to read the tea leaves on the historical narrative can be a challenge and filled with fallibility But based on my reading today, I’m confident that we are living through a major shift in the narrative. It’s good and bad but it is real. I would compare it to World War II, the Great War, the Civil War, or the American Revolution. Something dramatic has changed. Our expectations for stability have been shattered. It is a hinge in which what happens in the coming year will remake the world in unpredictable ways.

We are all learning what it must have been like to live in the Soviet Union in its last decades. We know everyone is lying and they know we know. But it all continues anyway. I’m thinking not just of government spokespeople, but also even respectable media."

Jeffrey Tucker

"Once you let this cat out of the bag—natural immunity—people grasp the concept. They understand. 'Oh, we’re just going to have to live through it. We’ll have to tough it out. And we can, because we always have.'

That’s VERY bad for business and control.

Therefore, against all common sense, health authorities have to keep promoting the myth that some people will be infected and some won’t be. And in order to increase the number that won’t be, we need a vaccine and antiviral drugs and masks and lockdowns and business bankruptcies and suicides and desolated cities and towns and medical dictatorship and the Great Reset."

Jon Rappoport

"The purpose of the trans movement and the purpose of social justice overall is twofold: First, to break down the foundations of western society and create chaos so that leftists can replace the existing culture with their own communist framework. Second, to use supposed 'victim groups' as a shield from any criticism of their agenda by controlling the language and labeling the people that oppose them as 'intolerant.'

The battle over SJW pronouns is indicative of this agenda because it requires the forced participation of everyone in the delusions of a minority of people with mental instability. It requires that I give respect to someone who hasn't earned it and is not entitled to it and call them whatever label they dictate I call them for however long they wish. And if I don't, I am evil and should be punished by the state or by the mob.

Imagine if schizophrenics decided to join together into a movement to demand that the rest of society call them by whatever delusional persona they happen to fantasize about that day. A guy suddenly decides that on Monday he is Napoleon Bonaparte or Jesus Christ and I'm supposed to accommodate him or be called a bigot? There is really no difference between this and what the LGBTQ-whatever movement is demanding when it comes to their made-up pronouns."

Brandon Smith

"The revolutionary struggle intensifies and continues against the forces of entrenched counter-revolutionary repression of the Usurper Biden regime and its savage assault on American rights and liberties. In this year we have seen the faux confidence and blind deferential trust supposedly engendered by the alleged 2020 electoral victory by the totalitarian Democrats erode to where the ubiquitous chant 'Let’s Go Brandon' resounds throughout the land, demonstrating the utter contempt the people hold these electoral thieves and their failed draconian policies on every level."

Charles Burris

"Identity politics is essentially the idea that a person is first and foremost a member of some race or ethnicity and only secondarily an individual. In recent years, most people have been indoctrinated indirectly and directly, subtly and overtly, to believe white people and the civilization they created are bad. The meme is everywhere. They’ve come to believe Western Civilization is a bad thing and that white people are destroying the world.

Even if they don’t want to believe it because the concept is so stupid and so utterly contrafactual, they end up accepting it just because they’ve heard it over and over. Propaganda works. Memes that originated with intellectuals in universities have thoroughly infiltrated the mass media and the entertainment industry. It’s perverse how today’s 'thought leaders' overwhelmingly think the same thing."

Doug Casey

"Maybe forcing people to believe your lies, even as you admit you are lying, is the purest expression of power."

Kit Knightly

"The prospect of domination of the nation's scholars by Federal employment, project allocations, and the power of money is ever present and is gravely to be regarded. Yet, in holding scientific research and discovery in respect, as we should, we must also be alert to the equal and opposite danger that public policy could itself become the captive of a scientific-technological elite."

Dwight Eisenhower, 1961

"When a country’s universities are against the country, sooner or later the people will be so also. Universities train leaders and educators who take the training to children. It is entirely possible to completely revolutionize and destroy a society through its educational system. That is what is happening in the US and UK. The two societies are erasing themselves. There is very little left."

Paul Craig Roberts

"At every stage of life, one is bombarded with this liberal propaganda. The inundation is enough to make one lose one's mind. And that's the whole point. It's simple psychology. If you are exposed to something enough, you will become more and more accepting of it – no matter how far afield you originally thought it was.

This is why we will never get the truth from the controlled media. The inner elite who rule the world control all major sources of the media and they very carefully and deliberately prescribe organized propaganda to build a thought system which subverts the population to think and act in perfect harmony with the system.

People literally do not think their own thoughts. The proof of this is widespread mimicking of daily social media trends."

Bob Livingston
