Big Surprise! World Trade Center behind schedule, over budget

From Reuters:
"The project's $14 billion cost keeps rising as commodity prices soar and the 19 federal, state and city agencies that are all involved fail to solve logjams."

19 agencies! The classic Soviet-style bureaucratic bungling done with an Amerikan twist. A disgusting performance for a site considered by state pagans and the Catholic Cult as "Holy Ground."

I see the plan includes demolishing the Deutsche Bank building. I'm certain that will occur in the dead of night so not arouse any viewer's curiosity. Surely, someone would notice the similarity of the bank's implosion to the collapse of the Twin Towers and Building 7.

DVD Reviews

Flawless: A diamond theft caper starring Michael Caine and Demi Moore- but with a twist. Entertaining movie with fine acting and a couple of life lessons.
Recommended

The Hunting Party: Based on a true story of journalists who, on a drunken lark, set out to capture a Bosnian war criminal in post-war Yugoslavia. Richard Gere leads the way. As the movie states in the beginning, "Only the most ridiculous parts of this story are true." And there are plenty.
Recommended

Bad Voodoo's War: An hour long PBS Frontline documentary that follows a National Guard Infantry unit while doing its business in Iraq. In each documentary on Iraq I discover more irrational and illogical reasoning used by soldiers to justify their "service" in killing for the state.

Quotes of the Week

From the Light:
“Individuals provide mankind faith, science, culture, music and philosophy. Groups take it away with lies, deception, theft and murder.” George Giles

From the Darkness:
"If we had done what Senator Obama asked us to do for the last couple of years, today Iran and al Qaeda would be in control of Iraq. It would be a terrible defeat for us and our allies in the Middle East and throughout the world. Instead, we've got a country that's defending itself, that's growing economically, where there's been genuine political reconciliation, and where Iran and al Qaeda are on the run. And that's the way it ought to be." Smokin' Joe Lieberman

Iran is Preparing to be Liberated

From CNN.com:

Iran's parliament speaker, Ali Larijani, warned other countries against moves that would "cost them heavily." In comments that appeared in the semi-official Mehr news agency Sunday, an Iranian general said his troops were digging more than 320,000 graves to bury troops from any invading force with "the respect they deserve."

That should help take the stress off Amerikan national cemeteries and save the taxpayers a bundle.
