Quotes of the Week

Enlightened insights taken from the past week’s reading:

"The US is estimated to have spent nearly 100 billion dollars training the Afghan army and police force. The real number is likely several times higher. For all that money and 20 years of training, the Afghan army cannot do its job. That’s either quite a statement about the quality of the training, the quality of the Afghan army, or some combination of the two.

Whatever the case, I am sure I am not the only American wondering whether we can get a refund. The product is clearly faulty."

Ron Paul

"There is something fascinating about science. One gets such wholesale returns of conjecture out of such a trifling investment of fact."

Mark Twain

"For the left, free speech was simply a means to gain power. The left claimed free speech for their subversive intentions. Now that they have achieved control on what can be said, denying freedom of speech to the rest of us is the way they control the narrative.

It is extraordinary that big business, long championed by conservatives and libertarians—the main groups whose speech is censored and suppressed often with lost of employment—is in league with the left in using censorship to control what Americans hear and think and in requiring white employees to submit to indoctrination that they are racists and must step aside for the black people they have oppressed."

Paul Craig Roberts

"Generations of specialists recommended against panic, quarantines, closures, and all these other medieval-style tactics that only disrupt, demonize, and destroy. In a few fateful days, all this progress was reversed and now we are stuck with the carnage.

Something has to give. Another lockdown risks revolution – it’s not even an option, despite the delusions of the New York Times. The journals have to open up. Society too — not only in the US, but all over the world. Humankind will not live in cages built by mad scientists who have low regard for human choice, enterprise, and progress itself. They tried and failed. There will be cascading waves of fury for many years hence."

Jeffrey Tucker

"A psychological crowd is not merely a gathering of a group of people... say, the thousands of people moving about an airport at any one time, or the 40,000 people attending a sporting event. A psychological crowd is an organism with one mind in which the individuals making up the crowd readily sacrifice their own self-interests to the collective interest.

Isolated, the individual in the crowd may be cultured, civilized and even passive, but once he becomes part of the crowd, he becomes a barbarian. He descends several rungs on the ladder of civilization to become a creature of spontaneity, violence and ferocity he would not have dreamed he'd become.

The psychological crowd is a dangerous organism. Politicians and tyrants know how to use and stoke them for their advantage.

Whenever one gathers and begins to wreak havoc on the established system — whether through violence or through assaults on culture, mores and morals — look behind it to see who benefits. It's rarely the people who make up the crowd, or the victims of its wrath."

Bob Livingston

"It is not surprising that only 30 people showed up for Biden; he’s a cognitively challenged dullard, He’s not nearly the, showman and snake-oil salesman Trump is with his "Lincolonian Nationalist" shtick, rallying the MAGA faithful.  The faithful wrap themselves in the flag, don their MAGA colored glasses, which hide from view Trump’s Operation Warp Speed, Constitutional violations, his Constitutional ignorance, his Socialism, his spending us into oblivion like a drunken Democrat, the continuation of unconstitutional wars and military actions, his unconstitutional bump-stock ban, his proudly taking credit for ramped up enforcement of unconstitutional federal gun laws, his meeting with Diane Feinstien to hammer out more gun control, his support for Red Flag laws, the 65 Swamp Creatures he hired for his administration…but alas the only thing the MAGA glasses allow the faithful to see is what they want to see."

Tim Martin

"The Reichstag was staged and Hitler played on the equality of the Marxists and paid lip service to the left by adopting the name National Socialist German Workers’ Party. He was not a "Socialist," but he manipulated them into supporting his agenda. Klaus Schwab is doing this right now with his World Economic Forum, preaching "equality" to get all the leftists to support a totalitarian regime. The youth think it is good to cancel people and to censor free speech because they are wrong.

Inside the World Economic Forum, they have ZERO tolerance for error. This same level of intolerance will be applied to this new world order they are pushing upon the world. Make no mistake about it, they have studied the tactics of Hitler. They are not planning to kill all the Jews, but they want to control everything and reduce the population as a whole."

Martin Armstrong

"As to patriots, those that do the state’s bidding in war are not patriots, but simply murderers for the state, and are perpetuating their own servitude by taking orders to kill others instead of doing something to free themselves. This is just another state trick to get people believing that war is in their interest, when in fact, it just tightens the chains of tyranny at home. Now, the real rulers and their pawns in government are at war against the people, and they still cower in fear of nothing."

Gary D. Barnett

"When a group of people in power are working hard to remove military-grade weapons from your hands, it's best to assume that their intentions are malevolent. They are not trying to help you; they are trying to help themselves.

They will deny this motive to the grave, but look at how the political left has been acting lately! They are the only people that have supported mass censorship of opposing viewpoints. They are the only people that are supported by international conglomerates and Big Tech companies. They are the only people who supported the pandemic lockdowns, which proved to be completely useless in stopping the spread of COVID, but they were very useful in killing hundreds of thousands of small businesses across the U.S. They are also the only people in favor of vaccine passports which would destroy the very fabric of our society and erase what is left of our freedoms.

It's not really surprising that they want to disarm us as well."

Brandon Smith

"Liberty is not for these slaves; I do not advocate inflicting it against their conscience. On the contrary, I am strongly in favor of letting them crawl and grovel all they please before whatever fraud or combination of frauds they choose to venerate…Our whole practical government is grounded in mob psychology and the Boobus Americanus will follow any command that promises to make him safer."

H. L. Mencken

"There are literally hundreds of thousands of people whose whole livelihoods are built around using the boogeyman as their golden ticket to get to the front of the plunder-pie-line. They live in fear of only two things: The Feds running out of pie, and the world running out of boogeymen. So far, the Feds have been able to plunder enough people to keep the pie flowing. But as the line gets longer, you must compete with other equally shiny golden tickets. Whenever the Justice System gets bumped back in line, the upper management panics, and tells the FBI they better produce some bigger and better boogeymen, or else we all go hungry! There just aren’t very many real actual boogeymen in the world, certainly not enough to keep the machine fed. So for the sake of keeping their business afloat, they have resorted to manufacturing their own pretend monsters.

This is literally all the FBI does nowadays. They set up fake scenarios, have their own paid informants role-play the whole thing, then lead some poor sucker into the middle of the LARP game to be arrested and bear the penalty for whatever heinous monstrosity the FBI dreamed up to be the plot of their latest self-aggrandizing street performance. It’s called "security theater" by old-school cops who look down on the practice. The whole thing is as fake as a plastic banana. But it reliably gets the Justice System to the front of the plunder-pie-line. And they are all addicted to that pie."
