Bomb Them! They have Monkeys!

Amerikan exceptionalists are in an uproar about the fact that Iran is importing monkeys captured from the African bush and sent to a “secretive” laboratory for experiments.

The article in Times Online stresses the objections animal rights activists have to the cruel treatment of the precious monkeys. It also relates the concerns of some (meaning the US government) that the monkeys may be used for research involving biological weapons. The American state doesn’t like competition in the field of mass murder.

According to US intelligence, the pharmaceutical industry in Iran has long been used as a cover for developing a germ warfare capability.
Sound familiar? Soon, the USG will be once again bombing aspirin factories. In 2005 the US Office of the Director of National Intelligence mentioned Iran’s “assessed probable BW [biological weapons] programme.” I say we be as concerned with this “probable” program as much as the “possible” WMD’s in Iraq.
