I'm surprised to see George Donnelly on your "Darkness" list. I know that many in the liberty movement have drawn a line in the sand and refuse to take government handouts, but I have to say the argument for the other side is compelling. Jim Davies lays out the case here:

You're welcome George! I think it's one of the best articles in favor of accepting handouts as a libertarian strategy. I've been swayed to strongly consider the position.
