Re: 'To Alter or Abolish'Good sir,I read with pleasure your LewRockwell.com article. At the end, you ask, "From whom or what do they get this authority?"They have the authority because they have the power. Their power rests on those who obey them.It is not the ruler who enforces their own edicts, it is the soldier who obeys. As silly as this may sound, remember the movie "Conan The Barbarian":"Do you want to know the riddle of steel, boy? Shall I tell it to you?Steel isn't strong. Flesh is stronger. What is a sword without the hand that wields it?"The Bad Guy then has a minion kill herself at his mere word. He turnsand says, "That is Power. The Power of flesh."...or words to that effect, it's been a while.Without those who will obey, there is no political power. Those whoobey are the real victims of Authority. We who must be coerced know, at least, what we are doing, and why.
Agree completely! As with war- it will only end when those charged with actually doing the killing refuse to.
The bottom picture tells it all. They're equal opportunity oppressors. Totalitarianism marches on whether in jackboots or high heels.
Oh, and by the way, Curt was correct. Without the willing consent of armed "enforcers" no evil law has teeth. So while these costumed clowns can claim they're merely "following the law" the fact remains that THEY and they alone are responsible for the evils we have inflicted upon us by their pay masters.
Not much has changed since 1968, has it? At least not in Chicago. I would argue that the virus that was infecting that city then has merely spread and multiplied.
